Comic Book Reviews: Week of February 3rd.

After two huge weeks, it was kind of nice to have a small pull list this week.  And by small, I mean three issues...so yeah...pretty light week for me, which is good because it has given me a chance to catch up on some trades I have picked up the last couple of weeks which I will soon have reviews for as well.  Anyways, hit the jump to find out my thoughts on the two Siege books this week as well as Invincible Iron Man.

Movie Review: Avatar

James Cameron's Avatar has quickly become an absolute phenomenon that continues to shatter box office records each week, and has already developed a hardcore fan-base that has gone as far as to name their children after the characters. Initially, I had little interest in seeing this movie and planned to rent it once it was available on Netflix. This may come as a surprise, considering I have a fondness of Cameron’s movies (other than Titanic) and am a pretty big sci-fi fan, but I just thought it looked like a pretty cliché movie that was probably only good to look at. I never dreamed it would receive as much positive attention or win as many awards as it already has. I finally gave in and made the short trip to my local movie theatre the other night to see what all the fuss was about. I know it’s not a comic book movie, but I figure with the immense popularity of the movie, a graphic novel and/or a comic book series is sure to follow, so hit the jump to read my review of James Cameron’s Avatar.

Note: THERE ARE SPOILERS!!!!!

Darth Vader You're My Hero

I came across this photo at Cliff Chang's website.  It is an image he drew for an upcoming Star Wars trading card set.  I thought it was pretty awesome.

Comic Book Reviews: Week of January 20 2010

Another huge week in comics and also another very busy week for me at work.  I have reviews for my top two issues and then just very simple and short reviews for the rest of my books.  I have an even bigger pull list coming up but I should be less busy at work and hope to put out good reviews for all of my books.

Comic Book Reviews: Week of January 13 2010

I finally got around to reading my comics for this week after an extremely busy work week.  I was really looking forward to Joe Kelly returning to Amazing Spider-man as well as another issue of Invincible Iron Man, which has been my favorite series for the past couple of months.  I also picked up Batman, Nation X, Black Widow: Deadly Orgins, and Batman: Widening Gyre.  Since I've been super busy the last couple of weeks I only have detailed reviews for the top two books this week and quick reviews for the rest.  To find out my thoughts on this weeks books hit the jump.

Yet Another "Kick Ass" Trailer

Another Kick Ass trailer was released this week and I have to say I can't wait for this movie to come out, and I have not even read the books yet.  I will be picking up the trade as soon as it comes out and have no doubt that I will enjoy it as much as everyone else seems to.
